This first photo was taken a few months ago, when my mother was still healthy, smiling, and taking care of us like she always did. The second photo… is what she looks like now. 💔
My name is Christopher, and I’m writing this from Uganda with a pain I can’t even explain. I am the oldest son of my mother, Nora, and I feel like I am watching her disappear in front of me… and I can’t do anything to stop it.
It started as something small. Just a wound on her face that we thought would heal. But it didn’t. It kept growing. Slowly at first… and then faster and faster, until in a couple months it became something we could no longer ignore.
Now, that cancer is eating away at her face.
